We have been introducing Hannah to the potty off and on for a few month's now, but very recently she's taken quite an interest to it and likes to sit on her new seat. Every so often she will take one of our hands and lead us in there with her. She will say "PP-PP" which I am guessing means anything you could possibly do on the potty. It is so funny when she scrunches up her nose and looks down towards her diaper and makes blowing noises like she smells something foul.
So, when we take her to the potty, she does not do anything. She is very pleased just to sit and read her Elmo book.
Today, we watched a video that my mom got her entitled "Once Upon a Potty" and it came with a little girl doll named Prudence and her little potty. Well the movie explains how when Prudence was a baby, her mommy and daddy would change her diaper, and now that she is big she is going figure out this potty thing. She gets a present from her grandmother, and it's her very own potty. Well, after a few tries, she is able to go to the potty like a big girl.
I am soooooooooooo hoping that Hannah will catch on to this. One thing the movie taught us was a potty song which we will adopt as our very own. It goes like this:
When I was a baby I had a diaper round my little tummy, that was that. Everything was easy when I had a diaper, didn't have to do much, that was enough. Wee-wee went there, Poo-poo went there, Mommy changed the diaper when dirty or wet. Now that I am bigger, No more diaper's. I got a potty. Gonna figure it out. Yes, I 'm going to my potty, potty. Now, I'm going to my potty, potty. Yeah, I'm going to my potty, potty. It's not a hat. It's not a cat. It's not a bird bath. It's only for me! I just sit on it. Sit, think, and sing on it. How wonderful! I'm so proud and glad. Wee-wee goes there, Poo-poo goes there. Then Daddy wipes behind me and that is that! Everything is easy now that I am bigger, I just got a potty...if my friends could see me now!
Then you go to the chorus.
Is that not hilarious-I started singing it and Hannah pointed to the T.V as if to say turn the movie on and stop your singing!
Well we are on our way-We will see how it goes.
